-Interviewer: Hi everyone and welcome again o Stay Tuned radio
program. Today we are talking about those professions
that are dying out. John, a farmer from Utah, is joining us, welcome John and
thank you for accepting our invitation.
-John: You’re welcome; it’s my pleasure to be here!
-Interviewer: So tell me, why did you decide to become a farmer?
-John: Well, my family has always lived in the Country, and
all the family men have grown crops in the farm for ages, while the women were taking
care of the house and the children. So, I guess that since I was born, I was destined
to become a farmer, and I love it.
-Interviewer: Do you think that fifty years ago your job was more
important than it’s today?
-John: Yes, it was a lot more important, and it was worth
doing it and it was a full-time job. Now you can’t barely live with what you
earn, it’s a shame!
-Interviewer: Don’t you think that the new farming methods and
machines have replaced the work of many farmers?
-John: Yes, I do. But I think it’s a result of the progress,
the old times have gone, and we need to adapt ourselves to the future, if you
stay stuck to the past you’re done, that’s why only the farmers who changed
their minds have been able to subsist.
-Interviewer: Well, thank you John for sharing your point of view
with us, but sadly our time’s gone, it has been really interesting.
-John: It’s been my pleasure!
